Duties

Work collaboratively with the Manager to manage, control, organise and plan the warehouse day team to achieve the agreed performance targets set at individual and departmental levels (including performance and absence management) that are under their direct supervision.

Deliver the service and quality levels that are aligned to the Company’s processes and procedures through expert delivery of the site’s management control systems including but not limited to:- ISO quality and environmental, health and safety, delivery and assessment of training and development, stock integrity, completion of staff reviews and investigations.

 

  • Supervision of warehouse staff to ensure the delivery of the operational targets for the warehouse, are achieved on a daily and periodic basis.
  • Manage the inbound stock receipts, process goods and ensure pick completion same day for outbound products
  • Dealing with Shortages, Overs, Amendments and matching paperwork to the goods for each route.
  • Prepare any freight for onward shipment through the network utilising the relevant pallet labelling.
  • Encourage and maintain a positive attitude and good working environment
  • Assist with cover for the Distribution Driving Team during busy periods and holidays.
  • Loading of Vehicles to minimise time on site for multi-drop drivers.
  • Manage staff performance on functional tasks throughout the warehouse operation including but not restricted to goods receiving, picking stock, packing orders, loading, put away and replenishment tasks and housekeeping.
  • To achieve optimum productivity levels in the warehouse operation, and to achieve agreed key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • To ensure that training and development needs of staff are identified and addressed and contribute on a general basis to the development of staff members when required
  • Ensure overall quality targets are achieved in line with the Company’s quality processes to a 99.5% level.
  • Assist in Stocktakes, perpetual stock counts and locating / movement of products
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and adopt best practice.
  • Support all activities relating to the efficiency of the site i.e. time and attendance, manpower controls and allocation of staff, delivery of projects and business Initiatives.
  • Maintain an excellent level of housekeeping within a defined area of the site under the jobholder’s control.
  • Contribute to the management of operational costs and budgets especially with regard to the control and management of absence within your own team members.
  • Implement the Company’s policies and procedures in line with legislative requirements and best practice for all matters relating to the operational performance of the site
